Dennis Nilsen’s Signed Copy Of Killing For Company

This is Dennis Nilsen’s one and only hardback, first edition copy of Brian Masters’ award winning
biography on the subject. It was sent in to Dennis Nilsen in January 1985.
Dennis Nilsen has written, under the dedication:
“My one great happiness between David Martin’s death and now is Jimmy Butler. March 1988”
On a blank page opposite the inside fron cover he has written:
“Des Nilsen B62006 Monday 14th of January 1985”
then lower, has written a poem which he has later crossed out and has re-written it again below the
first. Dennis Nilsen has signed the title page under his name and Brian Masters has also signed the
same page under his own name.
The spine has long-gone and the outer paper wrap is missing.
Dennis Nilsen never handed out this book and retained it in his cell throughout his prison sentence
where it was only retreived after his death in May 2018.
The item is referred to in History of a Drowning Boy (Dennis Nilsen’s autobiography) on page 190
and the book is also featured in the colour plates section of the autobiography
